June and July Monthly Wrap Up
So some of you might have noticed that I didn’t do a wrap up for June, just one month after I started doing this segment. The reason for this was mainly because I was so busy in my normal day to day life, which I briefly mentioned about in the monthly newsletter this month. Which reminds me, if you would like more detailed information about what’s happening with me, what I’m planning and doing next, sign up to the monthly newsletter over there on the right
My biggest segments, and most complimented on, is the Tuesday Talk, an interview type segment on my blog where I interview a travel blogger or photographer that inspires me. I’ve had some amazing people on there the last 2 months, including the following people. Michael Tieso from Art of Backpacking, Chris Nitz from Chris Nitz Photography, Cailin O’Neil from Travel Yourself, Bob from The Traveling Fool, Liz from L’appel Du Vide, Scott Wood from Scott Wood Photography, Jeremy from Living the Dream, Suzy Guese from Suzy Guese and finally Kate McCulley from Adventurous Kate. An amazing selection of people, and if you don’t believe me, just read the interviews. I’m hoping for some more great interviews for Tuesday Talk in the upcoming months.
My favourite photo that I posted, was of some guardian statues in Cambodia, from the Angkor Complex of temples. This was one of the first things we saw on our first day at the Angkor Ruins, and its one of the most lasting memories. I think another reason why I love this photo so much, is I’ve already sold a canvas of this
The post I did that was the most fun, and it has some good and fun memories attached to it for me, was about Bia Hoi – The Cheapest Beer in the World. For those unaware, Bia Hoi is a local fresh beer brewed in Vietnamese cities of Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi. And boy is it cheap!! Click the link to read the full post if you wish.
I think one of my most popular posts over the last 2 months was a very short series I did, I’m Different When I Travel – I’m More Outgoing. It was basically about how even though I am shy at home, and won’t go too far out of my way to get to know new people, but when I travel, I’m much more outgoing, and one of the things I love is meeting new people and hearing their stories. It surprised even more when I discovered this about myself.
I was also featured on another travel blogger’s blog, Liz from L’appel Du Vide, so please go and read all about one of my favourite people….ME!!!
Misadventure Monday: Nathan from “Wez Wanders”
Lastly I’ve been doing a daily travel photo over on my facebook page. I suggest heading on over and liking the page, and seeing some of the travel photos I’ve been posting from my small point and shoot camera. It’s been fun posting them, and I love and appreciate comments on them.
Well that’s a very brief wrap-up of the last two months for me, but if you want to read more, please feel free to go through my posts, and comment on them
I mentioned in my last wrap-up in May, that I would have a top 5 posts for each month, but because this is a 2 month special, it will be a top 10 posts that I read over the last 2 months (in no particular order).
